Overview: The TPU250 is a 250 watt wall-mounted telephone paging amplifier engineered for reliable paging from telephone lines and microphones. It includes comprehensive tone shaping and level control features to ensure clear, intelligible announcements and smooth background-music management. Inputs and paging operation: Accepts a 600-ohm balanced telephone line, a LO-Z balanced microphone input, and a background music feed. Pages may be made from the telephone and/or microphone. A VOX sensitivity level control prevents transmission of background noise when paging from a telephone. The signal-activated paging channel automatically mutes background music during pages, with an adjustable music-muting threshold and a gradual fade-back to the pre-page music level. Audio enhancement and controls: Built-in Aphex Aural Exciter increases intelligibility, enhances perceived loudness without raising power, and helps reduce listener fatigue. Front-panel controls provide separate adjustments for page volume, music volume, night ringer, music mute, and Aphex Aural Exciter, plus bass and treble tone controls. Outputs and ringer: Provides both 25V and 70V outputs. A built-in night ringer can be triggered either by contact closure or by a 90V ring signal. Protection, indicators and expansion: Thermal and electronic overload protection are included. A peak level indicator lights when the amplifier is driven into clipping. Jacks are provided for bridging additional TPU amplifiers. Installation and power: Brackets are attached for straightforward wall mounting. Unit operates from a 120V AC, 60Hz power source.
