The fast-drying silicone coating comes in decorative colors beyond black for stoves, stovepipes and hearth accessories. It withstands heat up to 1200 degrees F and resists blistering, peeling and flaking.
It can be used on hot metal items, including stoves, stovepipes, fireplace andirons, screens, grates, barbecues, gas grills and hibachis. For a porcelain-like high-gloss appearance that retains its luster to 500F, topcoat Thurmalox 290 decorative colors with Thurmalox 293 High Gloss Clear. For exterior use, apply Thurmalox 245 Primer and 290 Topcoat.
Made by Dampney Company Inc. of Everett, Massachusetts, the line is also available as a one-pint brushable black paint. It is not recommended for immersion, direct flame contact or cooking surfaces. The source also lists SKU TSP007.
