These are passive, full-range 2-way speakers that require only a home audio receiver or amplifier to drive them. Acoustic design: 8" woven fiber bulletproof cone woofers with butyl rubber surrounds pair with pivoting silk dome tweeters. A 2nd order 12dB per octave crossover delivers a frequency response of 30Hz-20 kHz and a sensitivity of 93dB at 8ohm. Installation details: pressure lock mounting system clamps securely to drywall. Cut-out (rectangular) required: 12.75" x 8.75". Mounting depth: 3.5625". Overall dimensions: 14.125" x 10.6275". Connections use spring-loaded raw wire terminals. Housings and grills are made of durable ABS and can be painted to match decor. System requirements: any home audio receiver or amp with raw speaker wire outputs.
