This exclusive Gabba Gabba Hey pink vinyl edition of the Ramones’ Rocket to Russia was released in November 1977, a little over a year after their debut album. LP 1 has these tracks.
Side A: Cretin Hop; Rockaway Beach; Here Today, Gone Tomorrow; Locket Love; I Don't Care; Sheena Is a Punk Rocker; and We're a Happy Family. Side B: Teenage Lobotomy; Do You Wanna Dance?; I Wanna Be Well; I Can't Give You Anything; Ramona; Surfin' Bird; and Why Is It Always This Way? The album keeps the band’s loud, fast sound, with slower songs placed among the faster ones.
It arrived amid debates over punk’s identity and authenticity, including disputes among fans and record-industry promoters. Its sound has been heard as both approachable pop and raw power in the vein of the Stooges.
