Ruth Murambadoro: The PhD Experience | sku-1893573396

The PhD Experience in African Higher Education is a hardcover edited by Ruth Murambadoro, John Mashayamombe and uMbuso weNkosi. Listed under All Manuals & Guides, it examines doctoral training in the humanities and social sciences at selected South African institutions.

The book describes South Africa's developed educational infrastructure and highly ranked universities, which have helped make it a hub for doctoral training in Africa over the past two decades. Its contributors argue that government, donors, universities and faculty have a socio-legal duty to equip doctoral students with hard and soft skills, rather than focus on graduate numbers.

They advocate skills training, research apprenticeships in communities of practice and treating candidates as equal partners in collaborative learning. SKU: sku-1893573396.
