William I Robinson The Global Police State sku-760975318

The Global Police State is a hardcover Military History Books title by William I Robinson, sku-760975318. Robinson argues that growing inequality leaves more people excluded from society through heavy-handed policing. He examines mass incarceration, police violence, US-led wars, persecution of immigrants and refugees, and repression of environmental activists.

He also discusses movements opposing militarization, surveillance and social cleansing, arguing that appeals to social justice often leave global capitalism unchallenged. Using data on repression, he describes emerging megacities as places where excluded people confront the global police state.
