The supplied instructions start partway through a ball-joint replacement: hold a rotating ball stud with a hexagon socket; at step 5, remove the worn ball joint; at 6, loosen the compression ball joint at the steering knuckle with a suitable tool; and at 7, clean the cone connection. Silicone grease may be applied to the sleeve's contact surface for sealing and durability. At 8, install the new joint in the control arm and steering knuckle with new fixing nuts.
