The refrigerator has digital controls, an antimicrobial silver ion-coated handle, wire shelves and a keyed lock. The freezer has a digital thermostat and wire shelves. Designed for pharmacy, medication and vaccine storage to support CDC/VFC guidelines, the refrigerator adjusts from +2 to +8C and the freezer from -20 to -15C.

The refrigerator's published +/-1C variation is based on the maximum deviation of an NTC sensor in a 1 oz. vial nearest the chamber's geometric center during a 24-hour test. Both units have access ports for user-provided monitoring equipment, and visual and audible out-of-range temperature alarms.

The refrigerator also has remote alarm contacts, adjustable-cycle defrost to avoid temperature spikes and ice buildup, an audible power-failure alarm and an audible and visual sensor-failure alarm. Its open-door alarm sounds after more than 4 minutes and can be adjusted from 1-99 minutes. The freezer uses static cooling to reduce temperature fluctuations.

The unit ships in three boxes; the customer installs the StackRack on the bottom unit and secures the other unit on top.
