The sensor design includes thin copper wiring, enhanced circuit processing, and an enhanced front-end LSI to improve light gathering, lower noise, and speed up readout for better video capture. Covering nearly the entire sensor, the 4D FOCUS system uses 425 on-chip phase-detection points plus 425 contrast-detection areas for fast, accurate focusing — capable of locking in as quickly as 0.02 seconds — and supports High-density Tracking AF Technology for reliable subject tracking in varied lighting.
