At its core is a 26.0MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor paired with the BIONZ XR processor—a sensor/processor pairing introduced in the FX30 Digital Cinema Camera—enabling 10-bit UHD 4K imagery at up to 120 fps and UHD 4K video oversampled from a 6K resolution. For stills, the a6700 delivers an unstrained 11 fps continuous shooting rate with AF and AE and can capture up to 59 compressed raw images in a single burst. The back-illuminated sensor architecture raises resolution while preserving sensitivity, and a native ISO range of 100-32000 (expandable to ISO50-102400 for stills) supports low-light work with minimal noise and more than 14 stops of dynamic range.
