The Sony a6400 is a compact APS-C mirrorless camera designed to deliver dependable stills and video performance for everyday use and special occasions. At its heart is a 24.2MP Exmor CMOS sensor that produces smooth, detailed images with low noise across a native sensitivity range of ISO 100–32000, expandable to ISO 102400 for very low-light shooting. The sensor's design incorporates thin copper wiring, enhanced circuit processing, and an enhanced front-end LSI to improve light-gathering, suppress noise, and speed readout — all of which benefit video capture as well as stills. Paired with the BIONZ X image processor, the a6400 supports continuous shooting at up to 11 fps with AF and AE, or up to 8 fps when using the silent shutter, and it can output 14-bit RAW files for broad tonal and color gradation. Focusing is handled by Sony’s 4D FOCUS system that covers nearly the full sensor area with a hybrid AF array of 425 on-chip phase-detection points plus 425 contrast-detection areas.
