Its 4340 chrome-moly steel bar is described as 200 percent stronger than standard 1020 stainless steel and 92 percent stronger than 4130 chrome-moly. Chrome-moly contains chromium, described as the hardest metal on the Mohs scale, and molybdenum.
The bar has a high strength-to-weight ratio, tensile strength and impact resistance for high torque and rough terrain. Heavy-gauge neoprene CV-joint boots are described as harder to puncture than rubber, more flexible and more protective than thermoplastic boots, and resistant to abrasion, oil and grease.
Recommended for intense mudding, the axle has induction heat-treated bearings to reduce friction and strengthen the CV joints. High-temperature, high-load moly grease is packed into the boots. The CNC-machined axle has a dynamic drive angle of over 40 degrees and is manufactured under ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001 standards. It arrives assembled with inboard and outboard universal CV joints.
