Its strength-to-weight ratio, tensile strength and impact resistance are intended to withstand high torque and rough terrain. Heavy-gauge neoprene boots resist punctures, abrasion, oil and grease; the source describes them as more flexible and more protective than thermoplastic boots.
Recommended for intense mud riding, the axle has induction heat-treated bearings to reduce friction and strengthen the CV joints. The boot contains high-temperature, high-load-bearing moly grease.
