The axle uses a 4340 chrome-moly steel bar, described as 200 percent stronger than standard 1020 stainless steel and 92 percent stronger than 4130 chrome-moly.

The alloy contains chromium and molybdenum and is described as having a high strength-to-weight ratio, tensile strength and impact resistance for high-torque riding on rough terrain. Heavy-gauge neoprene CV-joint boots are more difficult to puncture than rubber and are described as more flexible and protective than thermoplastic boots, with abrasion, oil and grease resistance and a longer wear life.

Recommended for intense mud riding, the axle has induction heat-treated bearings to reduce friction and increase CV-joint strength and durability. High-temperature, high-load-bearing moly grease is packed into the boot to support CV-joint life. The CNC-machined axle has a dynamic drive angle of over 40 degrees and is manufactured under ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001 quality standards.

It arrives fully assembled with inboard and outboard universal CV joints for installation.
