Optical design and coatings: The lens employs one F Low Dispersion (FLD) element and four Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements to control chromatic aberration and improve color fidelity. Two aspherical elements reduce spherical aberration and distortion for sharper rendering across the frame. A floating elements system maintains consistent image quality from the 11.8" minimum focus distance to infinity. Elements are treated with a Super Multi-Layer Coating to cut flare and ghosting, preserving contrast and accurate color in challenging lighting. Autofocus, handling and construction: Autofocus is driven by a Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) for fast, quiet operation, with an optimized AF algorithm for smoother focusing performance.
