Seymour Duncan SAPS-1 RW/RP Black Pickup sku-168190213

The Seymour Duncan SAPS-1 RW/RP is a Black, Unisex middle-position Strat pickup listed under All Musical Instrument Accessories. This vintage-correct single-coil pickup is recommended for country, pop, surf, rockabilly, blues, ska and classic rock. Hand-ground Alnico 2 magnets and moderate Heavy Formvar® wire windings give it a warm, sweet tone, natural string vibration and sustain.

Players who get distortion from the amp can ease off the crunch for clean tones with a softer attack. Compared with the SSL-1, the APS-1 sounds rounder and has a spongier bass response. It comes with waxed cloth hookup cable and a vintage-style "keyed" bottom plate.

The source describes the ASP-1 as designed for warmer-toned ash, alder or basswood bodies and compatible with maple and rosewood fingerboards. This reverse-wound, reverse-polarity pickup cancels hum in positions 2 and 4 on a five-way switch when used in the middle position with standard-wound ASP-1 pickups at the neck and bridge. A left-hand magnet stagger pattern is available.

Listed players include Marc Ford (Ben Harper and Black Crowes), Kevin Hunter (Shania Twain), Dale Oliver (Reba McIntire) and Jeff Pevar (CPR). SKU: sku-168190213. UPC: 800315002917.
