Three handmade octagon-shaped teak hanging baskets ideal for orchids, air plants and other epiphytes such as staghorn ferns. Each basket comes with mesh inserts and 34 inches long galvanised steel wire hangers for easy suspension. The set contains one 10-inch basket, one 8-inch basket and one 6-inch basket. Crafted in Thailand from recycled leftover off-cuts from teak wood furniture making, the teak is hard-wearing and naturally resistant to rotting, warping and splitting. The rustic slatted design leaves gaps between the wooden pieces to promote excellent airflow — a key factor for healthy orchids and similar plants. These versatile wooden planters can be hung outdoors or indoors, or simply set on a tabletop; they look especially attractive when displayed under a terrace. To plant small orchids, place the mesh at the bottom of the basket first, then add a well-draining mix such as bark chips or coconut husk. For orchids with larger roots, feed the roots through the gaps between the wooden slats so they can grow naturally.
