5 lb. bag of SeedRanch Argentine Bahia — a Bahia "selection" that originated in Argentina and was initially developed by a university for forage production. These seeds are 100% "Raw": uncoated, free of chemical treatments and not mixed with mulch. Argentine Bahia forms a deep-rooted, drought-tolerant turf with strong disease and insect resistance. It has wide, broad leaves and a rich, darker green color that makes it especially attractive for lawns in Florida and other Coastal Southern states. Because it produces fewer "objectionable" seed heads than many other Bahia varieties, it is commonly used for residential turf. Note that Argentine Bahia is cold susceptible and may suffer winter kill when planted north of approximately Tifton, Georgia. Best performance is in full sun locations.
