This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY. No hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or hard drive repair. Most Seagate PCBs store unique settings in a ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
