This listing is for the hard drive circuit board only (PCB / logic board). The physical hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photograph. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most Seagate PCBs store unique calibration and service data in a ROM memory chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its stored data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
