This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Most of these circuit boards contain a unique ROM "memory" chip that stores mandatory drive-specific data; that ROM or its contents must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement board for the drive to operate correctly. If the ROM chip can be relocated, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
