This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — NO hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for HDD repair and data recovery tasks. Many hard drive circuit boards store unique data in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
