This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are intended for drive repair and data recovery use. Most Seagate PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; the ROM or its contents must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement board. If you cannot transfer the ROM chip yourself, a local computer technician can often perform the hardware transplant. For customers who spend $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
