Product is the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of these boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Before ordering, confirm a PCB swap will address your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many Seagate PCBs carry critical, drive-specific information in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the replacement must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If physical chip transfer is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the work. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or programming the new board with the proper ROM data.
