Because we stock a large quantity of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery applications. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by using our hard drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board, either by physically moving the chip or by reprogramming the new PCB. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new board or programming the correct ROM data into the replacement PCB.
