Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the actual PCB shipped may vary slightly from the photo. This board is sold for hard drive repair and data recovery applications. Before ordering, confirm a replacement PCB will address your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs store unique drive-specific data in the ROM memory chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
