This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we keep a large inventory of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: hard drive repair or data recovery. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be moved to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform that operation. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transferring the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
