This board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most HDD PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM 'memory' chip that is required for proper operation; the ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer.
