Because we carry a large quantity of PCBs, the specific board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique information in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for proper operation. That ROM chip or its stored data must be transferred to the replacement board or the replacement board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the new board with the correct ROM data.
