Product is the hard drive PCB / logic board only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact circuit board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for HDD repair or data-recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guidance and checking compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Note: most hard drive PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board, or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If you cannot perform this yourself, a local computer technician can usually transfer the chip; alternatively, for orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the proper ROM data.
