This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We carry a large selection of PCBs, so the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repairs. Most hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service — either moving the original ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
