This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock many PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before buying, confirm that a PCB swap will address your problem by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many Seagate boards store essential configuration in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation and must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform that procedure. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or programming the new board with the correct ROM data.
