Product is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate 2.5" PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for correct drive operation; the ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed. If the ROM chip can be physically moved to the replacement PCB, a local computer technician can typically perform that procedure. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new board or reprogramming the PCB with the correct ROM data.
