This listing is for the hard drive circuit board only (PCB / logic board). No hard drive is included. Because we stock many of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Most Seagate PCBs store unique drive parameters in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data must be present on the replacement board for the drive to function correctly. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant; alternatively the ROM contents can be reprogrammed onto the new board. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the original ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
