This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We have a large inventory of PCBs, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Most of the hard drive circuit boards contain unique information in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip itself, or its stored data, must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can generally perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
