Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Due to high inventory levels, the actual PCB shipped may differ slightly from the photograph. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery scenarios. Many hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
