This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we stock a large quantity, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Many Seagate PCBs store critical, unique information in a ROM “memory” chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If moving the chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service — we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogram the new board with the correct ROM data.
