This item is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only; the drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the unit shipped may vary slightly from the photo. This board is intended for HDD repair or data recovery work. Prior to purchase, confirm that a replacement PCB will correct your problem by using our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique, drive-specific data stored in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for proper operation and must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip or reprogramming the new PCB with the correct ROM data.
