Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large stock of similar PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery purposes. To confirm a replacement board will resolve your issue, consult our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM “memory” chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement board. If a physical transfer of the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the swap. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
