This sale includes the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY—no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the actual PCB sent may differ slightly from the photograph. The board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM (memory) chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If a physical transfer is feasible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
