Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is meant for hard drive repair and data-recovery applications. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirming compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store critical, unique information in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If a physical ROM transplant is feasible, a local computer technician should be able to perform the task. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or programs the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
