This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Most HDD circuit boards store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: either transplanting the ROM chip to your new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
