This sale includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before assuming a replacement will cure the problem, please follow our hard drive diagnostics guide to verify the issue and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If transferring the chip is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the procedure. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
