This sale is for the hard drive circuit board / logic board (PCB) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before ordering, confirm whether a replacement PCB will resolve your drive problems by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility via the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM information is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip (or its data) must be transferred to the replacement board, or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM contents. If possible to physically move the chip, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
