This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Many Seagate PCBs contain unique data in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function; that ROM or its contents must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
