This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Compatible with Seagate ST500DM002 and marked 1BD142-021 (HP73, 5701 AC) for SATA 3.5 drives. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: hard drive repair or data recovery. Important: many drive PCBs store unique parameters in a ROM (memory) chip that are required for correct operation. That ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board or the replacement board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM contents. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip. For customers with orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
