This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the physical hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is designed for use in hard drive repair or data recovery scenarios. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive circuit boards contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly, so the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
