Item is the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive included. Because we have a large stock of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is sold for repair and data-recovery purposes. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement board will correct your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirming compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs store unique drive-specific data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
