This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are meant for hard drive repair and data-recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive circuit boards contain unique data stored in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer; alternatively, reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM contents is required. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
