This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we keep a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most PCB units store unique drive parameters in a ROM ("memory") chip; that data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you can’t perform the transfer, a local computer technician can usually do it. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
